The Appaloosa Horse Club recognizes 13 base coat colors, including chestnut, bay, and black, with this horse displaying a chestnut base coat. His markings including a white blanket with spots over the hip and back area typical to the breed, and he also demonstrates transitional color areas called “haloing”, where dark skin underlies areas of white hair.

Quarter horses typically have a short head with small ears. They are relatively short, at 14.3-16 hands in height, but are highly muscular, with powerful hindquarters, as seen in this horse.

This horse displays a thick mane and tail, as well as feathering typical of the breed. This horse is displaying a smooth, four-beat gait common to the breed known as the tölt.
