The Gulastra Plume is when a bay horse has a silver or flaxen colored tail, but does not have the genes that typically result in a silver or cream tail. The Gulastra Plume is not directly connected to one gene, but it is thought to be a result of how the Sabino-1 (SB1) gene expresses itself. The name comes from a famous Arabian Stallion called "Gulastra" and this gene mutation is seen in many breeds.
